IMPORTANT: The Marriage Schedule which you will be given after publication must be brought to the Church by the bridegroom on the day of the wedding.
Marriage
Around three weeks before your wedding both parties should arrange to see the Minister to discuss the final details of the service and to arrange for a rehearsal if this is desired. At the rehearsal the bride, groom, best man, bridesmaid(s) and the bride’s father should be present.
Music
There are usually two hymns sung during the ceremony. Processional music is normally played while the bride enters and leaves the Church. The Organist should be consulted in musical matters relating to your service.
Photographs
Please advise your photographer and guests that flash photographs are not allowed during the marriage service. A video may be taken from a fixed, unobtrusive point, the siting of which must be discussed with the Minister beforehand.
Charges
• Our fees for the use of the Church, Organist and Church Officer are £180.
• Members on the Roll at Markinch will be allowed a discount of £50.
• All charges are payable to the Session Clerk no later than two weeks prior to the wedding ceremony.
Flowers
If you wish to leave your flowers in the Church after the ceremony, our Flower Convenor can arrange for distribution to the sick and / or elderly within the Parish. Please advise the Session Clerk when arranging payment.
