You are always welcome.<br \/>\n<strong>Church Flowers<\/strong> Would anyone\u00a0in the congregation who would like flowers delivered from the Sunday service to the elderly, sick, bereaved, or someone going through a difficult time please contact the person dealing with the flowers for that month. The person to contact for distribution in July is Jean Wilson.<br \/>\n<strong>Church Recipe Book<\/strong> A reminder that today is the deadline to deliver your favourite recipes to Jean Forsyth for inclusion in the book.<br \/>\n<strong>The Flowers in Church<\/strong> today are dedicated to the Glory of God and are in loving memory of Rev Norman MacLeod. They are gifted to the church by Margaret MacLeod.<br \/>\n<strong>The Markinch Community Jubilee Concert<\/strong> organisers would like to thank everyone who supported this local community fundraising venture and hope that everyone enjoyed the talents on display in the concert. The profit from the two shows was \u00a31792.60 and the five local participating groups each received \u00a3179.26 to allow them to continue to support the performing arts. In addition to this, each of the groups nominated a local registered charitable organisation to receive a donation from the profits, distributed as follows:-\u00a0\u00a0 Markinch Local Committee of Cancer Research Scotland, \u00a3358.52\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Multiple Sclerosis Society, Fife, \u00a3179.26\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Homestart Local Area, \u00a3179.26\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Diabetes Fife\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a3179.26<br \/>\nThanks also to the leaders and committees of the participating groups for their hard work in ensuring the success of the two evenings.<br \/>\n<strong>A Summer Songs of Praise Service<\/strong> will be held tonight at 7.00pm in Methil Parish Church. The speaker will be Rev Fiona McKibbin from Uddingston Old Parish Church speaking about her upbringing in the east end of Glasgow and her journey into ministry. She will move you to tears as well as make you smile!<br \/>\n<strong>A \u2018Blue Plaque\u2019<\/strong> is due to be unveiled on Friday 6th July at 42 Commercial St, Markinch, to mark what was the family home of the late Sir David Jack. He was the scientific brain behind the rise of the pharmaceuticals company Glaxo and was credited with the discovery of no fewer than seven highly important drugs. There will be light refreshments in the church hall starting at 4.30pm\u00a0with a few short speeches from family and friends beginning at 5.00pm.\u00a0It is hoped\u00a0 that there will be a small exhibition in the hall on the life\u00a0and achievements of Sir David.
