Remember &#8211; It\u2019s YOUR newsletter.<br \/>\n<strong>A \u2018Blue Plaque\u2019<\/strong> is due to be unveiled on Friday 6th July at 42 Commercial St, Markinch, to mark what was the family home of the late Sir David Jack. He was the scientific brain behind the rise of the pharmaceuticals company Glaxo and was credited with the discovery of no fewer than seven highly important drugs. There will be light refreshments in the church hall starting at 4.30pm\u00a0with a few short speeches from family and friends beginning at 5.00pm.\u00a0It is hoped\u00a0 that there will be a small exhibition in the hall on the life\u00a0and achievements of Sir David. The plaque will be unveiled at 42 Commercial St, at\u00a06.00pm and the event and ceremony is\u00a0open to anyone who is interested.<br \/>\n<strong>Crossreach Children\u2019s Services<\/strong> work at residential schools in Beith, Ayrshire and Balfron, Stirlingshire. They cater for the educational, emotional and social needs of boys aged 8-18.\u00a0 Gordon Campbell has the task of building a database of people who are willing and able to give of their time to a group of youngsters. Letters, e-mails or Skype could help to enrich the lives of the boys who live away from home and are disadvantaged as a result.
