Union of Markinch and Thornton<\/strong> The Service of Union will take place at Thornton Parish Church on Thursday 5th June at 7pm. The Induction service for a new minister (when found), will be at Markinch, as it was felt that Markinch can cater for a greater number of people and the induction service is likely to be busier.<\/p>\n

Sunday Service Times<\/strong> The time of our Sunday services will change from 11am to 11:30am from 8th June 2014, as we will become a joint charge on 5th June, with services at Thornton being at 10am.<\/p>\n

Church Newsletter – News From The Pews<\/strong> Articles are urgently required for the church newsletter. If you have any interesting news, stories, poems etc, please hand them to Ken Wilkie or email\u00a0 ken.wilkie@lineone.net or call 01592 760042. The deadline for the next issue is tomorrow, 5th May<\/p>\n

Coffee Mornings<\/strong> on Thursdays from 10.00am – 11.30am in the church hall. Join us for tea or coffee and a chat. You are always welcome.<\/p>\n

Thursday Coffee\/Teas<\/strong> Members can now pre-pay their Thursday coffee\/tea and raffle costs for the year. This will enable us to treat as income on which we can reclaim tax from HMRC. A token will be provided to show that payment has already been made. Members can make payment directly to Nancy Munro and will receive a token to show that they have pre-paid. It is intended to stick to the calendar year, so payments for 2014 will cover to 31st Dec 2014.<\/p>\n

Life and Work<\/strong> magazine is now available for uplift<\/p>\n

Church Flowers<\/strong> If you would like a gift of flowers distributed to anyone in the congregation please contact Teresa Henderson on 01592 754892.<\/p>\n

Christian Aid Week 11th \u2013 17th May<\/strong> There will be a Coffee Morning in aid of Christian Aid on Thursday 15th May 2014. Posters will be ready for distribution soon. Books continue to be on sale and we recycle ink cartridges and toners.<\/p>\n

Christian Aid 40th Anniversary Book Sale<\/strong> at St Andrew\u2019s and St George\u2019s West Church, Edinburgh from 10th to 16th May (not Sunday 11th). Full details and opening times available in the church hall. Also includes art, collectables, stamps, postcards and toys etc.<\/p>\n

The Markinch Local Committee of Cancer Research UK<\/strong> are holding a Coffee Morning on Saturday 17th May 2014 at Balbirnie Court Markinch from 10am till 12 noon. Sales Table – Tombola – Raffle. Tickets \u00a32 from Teresa Henderson.<\/p>\n

A course on how to read music<\/strong> will be held at St Ninian\u2019s Church from 24th June. See the poster in the hall for more details if you are interested.<\/p>\n
