Ministers Vestry Hour 12 noon – 1.00 pm. Please contact the Minister for an appointment – phone 01592-758264 or E-mail alex@arforsyth.com  In the event of hospitalisation, serious illness, family anxiety, bereavement or personal difficulty the Minister is readily available to visit. You have to let him know if he can help.

Coffee Mornings are held on Thursdays from 10.00am-11.30am in the church hall. Come and join us for tea or coffee and a chat. You are always welcome.

The Guild Opening Social Buckhaven & Methil Miners Brass Band are the special guests at the Guild Opening Social on Monday 12th September at 7.00pm in the church hall. The social includes supper. To help with the catering arrangements and to be sure of a seat you need to buy a ticket at a price of £3.50. Tickets can be purchased from Jean Forsyth, Nan McRoberts, Jane O’Harrow, Nancy Munro, Jean Wilson, Lydia Inglis, Moira Michie or Ann Taylor.

The Congregational Board will meet in the hall at 7.15 p.m. on Monday 19th September. Copies of the agenda and minute of  the previous meeting are now available in the Session House for those members who do not have e-mail facilities

Fashion Show – Friday 16th September at 7.15pm Come along to Picante at Unit H4, Newark Road South, Glenrothes, KY7 4NS and enjoy a fashion show with all profits being used for the refurbishment of the church buildings.  Bring your family and friends along, tickets on sale from Tracy Thomson.

Garden Party The annual Church Garden Party will take place in the Church Hall garden on Sunday 18th September from 2pm till 4pm. Tickets are on sale from Tracy Thomson priced at £3 per adult and £2 per child.

‘News from the Pews’ competition The answers to the questions were:-
1.  Heart of Midlothian, who were the basis of Macrae’s Battalion;
2.  James Todd was a footballer with Raith Rovers;
3.  Baron Manfred von Richthofen, was given a full military burial there by the British.
The winner was Mima Magna.

Offerings can easily be contributed regularly to the church by way of Standing Order via your own bank. It’s so much easier for both yourself and the church to give in this way. Please ask our Treasurer, Nancy Munro for a form.

The Church Christmas Meal will be held at Balbirnie Golf Club on Friday, 16th December. More details will follow soon.

Markinch Local Committee of Cancer Research Scotland are holding a Coffee Morning in Balbirnie Court, Markinch on Saturday 17th September, 10am till 12noon. Raffle and Tombola – Tickets £1.50 from Lottie Wilson and other committee members.                                            

The Glasgow Passion – The play, which tells the story of the last week in Jesus’ life, will be performed in George Square, Glasgow on 6th October, 2011 at 7.30pm. The Glasgow Passion 2011 is a new and modern interpretation of what is arguably the greatest story ever told – the story of Jesus.
