During the Easter service at Markinch Parish Church on Sunday 8th April, church elder Mr Robert Balfour was presented with a certificate of long service signed by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Reverend David Arnott MA BD. He was also presented with a Study Bible by Session Clerk, Mr John Wood.
Rev Alex Forsyth said that Mr Balfour had served the Church of Scotland as an ordained elder for over thirty years. He has also served as fabric convenor at Markinch and is a member of the General Trustees of the Church of Scotland as well as being a Deputy Lieutenant of Fife.
