Ministers Vestry Hour 12 noon – 1.00 pm. Please contact the Minister for an appointment – phone 01592-758264 or E-mail alex@arforsyth.com  In the event of hospitalisation, serious illness, family anxiety, bereavement or personal difficulty the Minister is readily available to visit. You have to let him know if he can help.

Coffee Mornings are held on Thursdays from 10.00am-11.30am in the church hall. Join us for tea or coffee and a chat. You are always welcome.

The Flowers in Church today are in loving memory of Lottie Wilson and her mother, Mrs Gourley. They are gifted by John and the family.

The Communion Service in November will now take place on 25th November at 11am. Please note this date change in your dairies

The Harvest Service will be held on Sunday 30th September at 11am. Donations of tinned food would be greatly appreciated as this is then donated to St Ninian’s Church who distribute food parcels to the needy in the Glenrothes area.

Webb Ivory Christmas Catalogues are available in the Church hall for uplift and any orders have to be given to Tracy Thomson. 

Markinch Memories 2013 Calendar  The 12 distinctive photographs that make up ‘Markinch Memories 2013’ show off the town and parish past and present. With views of the church and scenes from days of ‘auld lang syne’, at £7.50, this unique calendar is an ideal present for anyone with a Markinch connection. Fundraising Going Forward – A meeting is being hosted at the manse on 20th September at 7.30pm. Anyone who wishes to suggest ideas for fundraising, help organise events or assist in the fundraising effort in any way. Everyone is welcome and any help would be gratefully received.

Harvest Lunch – A community meal will be held on Sunday 30th September following our Harvest Thanksgiving service at 12.15pm. Please feel free to include family and friends in this event. This will be at a cost of £4 per adult and £3 per child. Tickets available from Karen Wood.

Jigsaw Library Meg Sankey is going to be running this as part of this year’s fundraising efforts. To get this started would you please look out any unwanted jigsaws and bring them to Meg any Sunday at church or phone 01592 749633 and she will collect them. We plan to charge a nominal fee to borrow each jigsaw.

Sales Table – There are some knitted items for sale in the church hall. Please feel free to make a donation to church funds in the dish provided. If you would like to
donate handicrafts, baking, plants, jams / chutney’s etc, please place them on the sales table before any church service.

Rag Bag – Congratulations! we raised another £125.50 this month. This continuous effort adds regular amounts to the fundraising effort. You can donate any clothes, towels, bed linens, shoes, curtains, towels, bags or textiles. If you need transport for your donation, please contact Marianne on 07801 279899 to arrange an uplift

The Rotary Club of Glenrothes will be delivering shoeboxes again to the needy in Eastern Europe. Boxes are available for uplift in the hall. Remember to tape a £1 coin to the box after filling. The last day for uplift is 18th Nov 2012.

Today at 3.00pm  – Tree Planting in the John Dixon park in celebration of the Queens Diamond Jubilee.

Friday 21st September – African Children’s Choir in Benochy Church at 7.30pm.

Thursday 4th October –  7.00 pm in the 252 Memorial Hall. A talk on Cardinal David Beaton hosted by Markinch Heritage Group.

Friday 23rd November – A concert in the Church Hall by Bruce Davies to raise funds for Markinch Parish Church, more details to follow.
