NOTICE OF NOMINATION – Section 22(5)
H (AMENDED) Vacancy Procedure Act Protocol
To be intimated for 2 Sundays, 24th and 31st October 2021 and Displayed for 14 Days
At a meeting held on Thursday 30th September 2021, the Nominating Committee chose the person whom they wish to propose to this congregation of Markinch and Thornton Parish Church to be our new minister. The name of the person proposed is Dr. Conor Fegan.
Arrangements have been made for Dr. Fegan to conduct public worship in Markinch Church on Sunday the 7th day of November at 11:15am o’clock.
The Presbytery of Fife have approved that
- Some members of the congregations shall be present when Dr. Fegan conducts public worship.
- And that others may join online via the link* or the recording of Dr. Fegan conducting public worship.
*The Zoom link may be obtained by contacting Ken Wilkie, and the recording will be visible on the Markinch and Thornton YouTube Channel.
Those who are entitled to a vote, and for whom the Kirk Session hold full contact address details shall receive a ballot paper pack by Saturday 6th November. Anyone who has not done so by that date should contact the Session Clerk. Those present at the service on Sunday 7th November may leave their ballot papers in the boxes provided, but they will not be counted until the closing date for receipt of postal ballots has passed. Every vote returned must have a unique number written on their ballot paper. Votes returned without a unique number will not be counted. The unique numbers will not be linked to how votes are cast.
All postal votes must be cast or returned by 1st Class post in a Stamped Addressed Envelope to reach the Interim Moderator by Saturday the 13th of November. Any votes received after that date will not be counted.
No-one else shall be entitled to vote.
