The Guild – The Spring Rally of Kirkcaldy Presbyterial Council Church of Scotland Guild is being held in Markinch Parish Church on Thursday 22nd April, 2010 at 7.15pm  The speaker is Esme Duncan, past National Convener of the Church of Scotland Guild.  A warm welcome is extended to everyone, ladies and gentlemen, to hear this excellent speaker.
GROW Fashion Show: A Fashion Show organised by M & Co in aid of GROW will be held in Markinch Church Hall on Friday 30th April at 7.30pm. Tickets (£4 for adults and £2 for children) are available from Joan Grant.
Sunday School We have received our first letter from Surafel our sponsored child in Ethiopia. He tells us that he enjoys football and his favourite Bible story is about Moses. He lives with his parents in a village with no electricity or water. The full letter can be seen on the notice board in the hall. We need £252 to sponsor him for the year and you can add your name to the wall chart. Thanks to all who have already contributed this year.
Election Hustings 2010: Glenrothes & Area Churches Together have organised an Election Hustings meeting in advance of the General Election on 6th May.
All the candidates will take part in what is expected to be a very lively debate. The meeting is on Wednesday 21st April at 7.30pm at CISWO in Glenrothes and will be chaired by the Rev Alex Forsyth. Questions must be submitted in writing, before the meeting. Further details from Bob Grant.
Help raise money for our church by recycling  During the next few months we will be collecting all types of unwanted textiles including adult’s and children’s clothes, paired shoes, hats, bags, belts, curtains, towels and bed linen.  We take all qualities of textiles, even ripped or with buttons missing!!!  Our Church will get money for every kilo of textiles we collect.  Start collecting today and bring bagged items to the Church Hall, where we will store any items until our collection date later in the year.  For more information contact Tracy Thomson on 01592 775752 or visit the Rag Bag Website at www.rag-bag.co.uk
450th anniversary of the Scottish Reformation There will be a special session of the General Assembly to mark the 450th anniversary of the Scottish Reformation. This will be held in the Assembly Hall from 4 pm to 6 pm on Sunday 23 May and will include worship, drama, special music with Hyndland School choir and orchestra (where the Moderator was school chaplain), historical input and reflections on the Reformation legacy today. This will be an open session of the Assembly and visitors will be very welcome.
