SSAFA Carol Service at Markinch Parish Church

People from across Fife made their way to Markinch Parish Church on Sunday 2nd December to attend the annual SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors & Airmen’s Forces Help) Carol Service,

Hosted by Mrs Margaret Dean, the Lord Lieutenant of Fife, and SSAFA Forces Help, the service was attended by over 200 people.

The readers included, Mrs Margaret Dean, HM Lord Lieutenant of Fife,  Mrs Tricia Marwick MSP – Presiding Officer, of the Scottish Parliament, Councillor Kay Morrison, Deputy Provost of Fife, and Mr Robert Balfour DL, Elder, Markinch Parish Church.

Mrs Jean Forsyth played the organ and Markinch District Community Choir sang two anthems.  Co-op Funeral Care, Glenrothes, supplied the hymn sheets

The Revd. Alex Forsyth, the minister at Markinch, thanked the  volunteers whose support on the day made this event possible and such a  great success. £320 was raised for SSAFA funds.
