An Appeal From Glenrothes YMCA for Food Donations

“Now that the new benefit system is starting to have an effect on those who claim benefits we are finding that requests for food parcels are increasing due to many reasons. As we rely on kind donations we are appealing to your congregation once again to help us with these requests. Food parcel requests will increase as the new benefit system starts to hit all those on benefits and people find themselves financially stretched.

We appreciate greatly your help over the years and hope you are in a position to help us again with this request.”

Yours sincerely, Mary B Hill, Director

“PS at the moment we have a good supply of soup, dried pasta and tea-bags but anything else would be much appreciated”.

In response to this appeal, there will be a box in the vestibule. If you would like to make a donation of non-perishable foods, please place it in the box on a Sunday, and we will ensure that it is delivered to the food bank on Monday.

Picnic and Hamper Auction

Join us for a picnic lunch on Sunday 23rd June at 1pm in the Church Hall Garden. If the weather is not kind, we will be in the hall. Please bring your own food and beverage for this fellowship meal. For anyone wishing to attend, but who would prefer to eat a special picnic prepared by someone else, there will be a number of special picnic lunches up for auction at this event. Highest bidder wins. Looking forward to seeing you there.

On 21st July 2013, Rev Alex Forsyth will celebrate 40 years as an ordained minister.

There will be a special Sunday Morning service led by the Revd. Ken Froude, minister of St Bryce, Kirkcaldy.

Jean Forsyth is hosting lunch in the church hall immediately after the service and is inviting everyone to come and be her guest. To give the outside caterer some idea of numbers she needs your reply to this invitation by the end of June. If you intend to come please confirm and phone Jean on 01592 758264 – soonest.
