Members of Markinch Parish Church were able to view the contents of a ShelterBox, thanks to the Rotary Club of Glenrothes.   ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disasters worldwide. Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and lifesaving equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless. The contents are tailored depending on the nature and location of the disaster, with great care taken sourcing every item to ensure it is robust enough to be of lasting value. So far more than 7,000 ShelterBoxes and disaster relief tents have been distributed in Haiti following the earthquake.
John Kerr from Rotary International was on hand to explain about ShelterBox and to answer any questions.
