Last Sunday the first memory cards were added to the church’s ‘Trees of Memories’. During Advent and Christmas the church’s ‘Trees of Memories’ in the church windows offer a way to remember loved ones no longer with us. Memory cards are available from the table in the church entrance. You add your own inscription on the reverse of the card before hanging it on the tree. Last year more than one hundred cards adorned the trees.
All proceeds from the ‘Trees of Memories’ are going to towards the provision of fresh-water well in rural Kenya. (Christian Aid provide the well at a cost of £500.)
Members of the Sunday School lit the first advent candle – the ‘Candle of Hope,’ on the church’s Advent crown.
